Whether you’re going on holiday to Canada or planning to travel elsewhere, packing the right items is essential if you want to have a good time. After all, the last thing you want is to get to your holiday destination and realise you’ve left something you really need at home. Here are some tips on how to pack for a holiday in Canada.
Consider the Type of Holiday You’re Going On
If you’re going on a beach holiday your suitcase is going to look very different to going on a ski holiday – and a holiday to Canada is no exception. For example, if you have decided to book Canada motorhome holidays then you are going to have a different list of essentials than if you’re intending to go hiking while you’re there. In order to pack the right items for your trip make sure that you consider the holiday you’re booking & what this means you might need while you’re away.
When Are You Going?
Much like the UK, Canada has different seasons with extreme weather so you’ll want to consider this when deciding what to pack – the part of Canada you’re travelling to will make a difference too. Make sure you do plenty of research before you travel so you can be sure of what the conditions are going to be like while you are there, so you can make sure your suitcase is packed full of the right items for your trip.
Travelling with Someone Else
If you’re travelling with someone else or taking two cases for another reason then splitting your items between the cases is a must. If you have half of your clothes in one case and half in the other then if the worse happens and one case gets delayed, you know that you will still have enough items to see you through. Without this, if a case goes missing one of your travelling party is going to be left with nothing, whilst the other has everything – so it just makes sense to split things between the two!
The Essentials
There are always going to be essentials that you need to take with you – travel documents, medication etc. It is a good idea to ensure that you have these in a bag that is going to stay with you whilst on the plane. Another top tip is to photograph all of your holiday paperwork, passports ID etc – that way if things do go wrong and these get mislaid, you have a digital version that you can show people should you need to, which can help speed up the process of getting these replaced.
