July is an ideal month for getting out and about more, as the longer evenings and better weather are here. August can be just as nice, but as it is the school holidays places tend to be busier; so here are some things to do this July.
Be a Local Tourist
Although we tend to know there are fun things to do in our local area, they often get overlooked as we plan days out further away. This July why not be a tourist in your own town? Have a look at what local events are taking place or what tourist places you haven’t visited and make it your mission that this month you’ll go along. Local days out are great on the bank balance and with far less travel time involved can help when you have a busy life too!
Have a Day at the Park
Get some friends together, some picnic blankets, a football and some snacks and you have yourself a great day out. We tend to assume that days out need to be big-budget and extravagant but actually it’s more often about who we are spending our time with than how much money we’re spending doing something. Arranging something at the local park means that you get to see friends and people can dip in and out at a time that suits them; meaning everyone gets to have a good time.
Plan a Big Day Out
Of course, a big day out every now and then is a good thing too! For example, if you have kids that are coming up to the end of term you could plan a big day out to celebrate the end of term and the start of the holidays – a theme park, a trip to the beach or something else that you think you’ll all enjoy.
If you have any ideas on things to do in July we’d love you to share them
