When we think about holidays and travel, we tend to think about who we’re going to go with. Don’t get us wrong, it’s great to get together with friends and family and travel, but there are so many pros to travelling alone too! Here’s a look at some reasons to travel alone:
You’re in Charge
One of the nicest things about choosing to travel alone is that you get to be in charge – want to spend the afternoon laying by the pool? Great, go for it! Fancy something more adventurous? Well, you’re in charge. Want to eat at a fancy restaurant? go for it! When travelling with a group of people it can be hard to time everything so that everyone gets to do what they want – because some people will want a busy day and others will want to relax. When travelling alone you get to decide – you can even change plans last minute if you want without worrying that you’re going to upset someone.
You Can Be Flexible with Holiday Plans
Travelling on your own means that you get to pick your own holiday plans. Timing flights, destinations and picking hotels to suit everyone can be hard work – but you can forget all of that when you book solo holidays because the only person you have to worry about pleasing is you. This means you can even book awkward travel times to save yourself money, giving you even more spending money for your holiday.
You Can Meet New People
Travelling with friends or family is great, but it does mean that you tend to stick with the group of people that you know. When you travel alone you’re forced to socialise with new people and this is a great way to make new friends. In fact, you can even book a holiday with a company that specialises in solo tips, and that way you know everyone is going to be in the same boat as you – and probably just as keen to make a new friend or two along the way!
So, don’t let the fact people don’t want to travel to the same places as you put you off, instead take the plunge and book some solo travel plans, even if those are UK staycations to start with – you won’t regret it & you’ll be able to make some amazing new memories.
