Staying motivated isn’t always the easiest thing to do, especially if it’s a task or lifestyle change that we aren’t enjoying. However, generally speaking, once we can tick the task off our list we feel better so staying motivated to get things done is important – here are some fool proof motivation tips.
Set an End Goal
Setting an end goal is a great way to keep motivated – because it helps to give you purpose to what you are doing & a reason for struggling through the task. If you are just doing something endlessly with no goal in sight then it can be easy to wonder what the point is and how you can possibly stay motivated. So for example, if you are starting a new fitness regime set yourself a goal of being able to run a mile in a set amount of time or doing a certain amount of steps each day; this gives you the motivation to have a bit of competition with yourself and make it happen. Even planning a day at the beach needs a bit of goal setting.
Recognise It Just Needs To be Done
The truth is that as much as anyone can tell you to stay motivated, there will be times when you simply can’t muster up any enthusiasm for what needs to be done, no matter how hard you try. Don’t be too hard on yourself this happens to everyone. The trick is to just do it anyway. You don’t want to, you can’t think of anything worse but the truth is it needs to be done – so once you have done it, it’s one less thing for you to worry about.

Rewards
As well as getting things done and setting a goal, reward yourself for getting there. For example, giving up smoking saves you loads of money so when you have reached this goal use some of the money you have saved to treat yourself. Any motivation is all about giving and taking & making sure there is a point to doing what you are doing.
